New Year issues!

Posted on Jan 5 2009 | Posted in Web/Tech | No Comments

Well, with the new year I noticed some big issues in TrueGoal. The weekly overview report and mileage totals (week, month, year) pages seem to be broken. The weekly report was an easy fix and that’s done on my personal version of the program. Mileage totals are proving more difficult. I don’t know exactly why the query isn’t working (or if that’s even the issue) but I’m trying some different ideas.

I’ve added some other things as well. I’m working to allow log output in metric distances and changing swimming output to yards/meters. My goal is that the system works as follows:

  • When viewing an individual workout or race, distance is output in the units that it was entered in (for example, you may prefer miles overall but run a 10K race and enter it as such).
  • When viewing weekly, monthly, or yearly total distances, the program outputs in miles or kilometers (depending on which you prefer).
  • Swimming total distances are output in yards or meters, with pace in M:S per 100 yards or 100 meters.

No timetable for the next release yet, it’ll depend mainly on how quickly I can fix the “Y2K9″ bug.
