I'm a wimp.

Well, I went on a fairly short and easy bike ride today, but was revealed as the wimp I truly am.

As I’m cruising along at a not-too-fast but decent 18 mph on flat with a slight headwind, I take a glance back… and there’s another cyclist not too far behind me. I don’t know where he came from, but he must have made up some major ground on me.

Shortly after this, there was a turn – I went one way, and glanced back… he went the other way.

I was hoping he would follow me so I could crush him going up the hill, and perhaps prove I’m not so wimpy after all, but I never got the chance.

Sometimes, everyone needs to realize that they’re not as tough as they need to be. I think it’s time for me to start doing intervals and hill repeats.
