Bug work

Posted on Mar 7 2009 | Posted in Web/Tech | No Comments

I’m working on a kind of sticky bug right now that is preventing mileage totals (week, month, year) from being counted correctly. These totals appear in two places, and one works fine while the other doesn’t.

From the home page of Truegoal, you can click a link to view all workouts in the current week. This contains the total mileage for each sport during that week, and it’s working great. But the week-month-year links for each individual sport on the home page don’t work.

This page is being a bit of a pain for me, so hopefully I’ll get it sometime.

In other news, I’m making good progress on a couple things: Swimming is counted in yards, not miles, and the pace is per 100 yards. Also, I’m working on setting up an include file that the user chooses at setup that allows the program to work in metric or “normal”. Lastly, I’d like to make a Linux installation script and launcher; I’m not sure if I could do this for Windows.

I have a few more goals – perhaps a workout rating system? – before the next version (0.1.8) is released, I’ll release it someday but it may not be soon.

I may set up SVN for myself only on my machine to help me keep track of changes. Contact me, in comments or by clicking “Contact Me” above if you have any tips on this. I haven’t been real successful yet.
