A site I can get lost on

For the sake of making navigation easier (among other things), we humans have laid out a grid of arbitrarily-placed vertical and horizontal lines on our planet. Every place a latitude line crosses a longitude line (for example, 45 degrees N and 142 degrees W) is called a “confluence”. The Confluence project is an attempt to catalogue these spots. People visit a confluence, take pictures in each of the four cardinal directions, and post them on this website.
It’s a really interesting way of seeing average terrain in various places that aren’t always on the beaten path.
There is one confluence on an I-5 onramp in Salem.
