Time to start up again!

Well, as I’ve taken some time off of TrueGoal lately (I’ve been busy, obviously), I’ve been doing some thinking about how to implement some new features and do some fixes. Some stuff will be difficult, other things will be easy.

I’m almost done with changing the swimming units from miles to yards, and pace from min/mile to min/100 yards. I know that minutes per mile doesn’t make a lot of sense for swimmers, so this is a good change.

A more difficult task is to figure out how to offer an option to view metric units or standard US units in the log output. I may have to add a step to the install process, where the user chooses one option or the other. The problem with this is that I have to be selective where to apply the units; perhaps an American user runs a 1500 meter race for example.

The best option may be to simply display units in the units they were entered in for individual log entries, then convert them to standard or metric in weekly/yearly totals. It’s a confusing issue.

I’m also a little tired right now, I hope I’m making some sense.

I’ll have a little more time soon, and so I’m hoping to get going on “Ernst Fast”(0.1.8) at that time.
