New version is up!

Version 0.1.0, “Spiridon Louis”, is now available for download. I’ve added a few biggies – such as the ability to see weekly, monthly, and annual mileage totals and an option to export the log to a text file, useful for copy-pasting to a webpage or blog (or for using with php includes as I’m doing with my training log page).

To install, you’ll need a local webserver such as XAMPP. Extract the TrueGoal zip file and place it in the “htdocs” folder of the XAMPP installation. There is a “HOW-TO-INSTALL” file included in the zip package that contains more instructions.

If you already have TrueGoal you can update it by simply extracting the zip file and moving the “truegoal” folder to the “htdocs” folder of the XAMPP installation. Replace the old TrueGoal folder. You’re good to go.

I stumbled across truegoal and thought I’d give it a try. I’ve got a couple of suggestions if you fancied them.

Split times – I like to track my progress based on a number of splits in the courses that I run / cycle. If I could track the improvement better than the current paper and pencil way it would be a huge step.

Training status – equally I like to know if I’m actually making any progress, so a kind of traffic light system works well. Green making progress, Amber not getting anywhere and Red going backwards.

Thanks for the software. Much better than my paper and pencil!

Thanks for the comments. I’m glad you got it set up and going!

As you can see, it’s been a while since I’ve done much work on this – I’m planning to have a little more time this winter that I’ll work on it.

I’ll see what I can do. Let me know if there are other issues.

Set up and worked very easily. If only it could do my winter training for me and turn me into a quicker runner!

I was looking for something simple that I could eventually have on my site. I didn’t like much of the installed software as it was just too complex. At best i use a polar HRM and Garmin 201 and progress is monitored on a set series of routes so much of the info isn’t needed. Thuis is nice and suimple and gives the user enough to check back against.

How about a wordpress plugin? No idea how difficult to do but it’ll be beyond me.

Have your say!
